How You Can Easily Inform At Least 100 People About the Business Ethics Pledge: One Dozen Cool Ideas

100 people may seem like a huge, insurmountable number--but actually, you probably reach many more than that every week. If you need some ideas, try these:

  • Post a notice at the counter of your retail store or on a notice board at your professional office. Even if you only get ten visitors per day, it will only take you ten days to make your goal.

  • Ask for five minutes on the agenda when you go to Rotary, Lions, Chamber of Commerce, professional associations, or other similar meetings. If 20 people attend on average, you can reach 100 people in just five meetings.

  • If you send products by mail, include a flyer about the Pledge campaign.*

  • Write a letter to the editor of your local newspaper, and then send the same letter to the trade publications you read.*

  • When you hear radio personalities and their guests discussing business ethics, call in to the listener call-in line and make your comment over the air.

  • Send a press release announcing that you've signed the pledge.

  • If you publish a newsletter or e-zine, announce it there.

  • Put the pledge logo and a short note about the campaign on the most popular pages of your website.*

  • If you give public presentations, spend a couple of minutes discussing the pledge.

  • Add a link to the Pledge campaign in your e-mail signature, such as "Have you signed the Ethical Business Pledge at http://www.principledprofits.com/25000influencers.html? I have!" If you participate in any discussion lists, you probably reach far more than 100 each time you post.

  • Send memos or e-mails about your participation--and your commitment to ethical, customer-centered business practices--to all your employees, suppliers, and customers.
