If you want to learn and find out more about ethical marketing success stories, instances where ignoring the ethically questionable "easy money" paid big dividends for a company, product or individual, head off to Shel Horowitz' site and sign-up for his valuable Positive Power of Principled Profit newsletter. Shel is an Internet pioneer I have been following for quite a few years and this pointer to his good work is the least I can do to support his valuable, independent efforts. If I wanted to make the world insist on knowing why I, Robin Good, are so damn special, Shel Horowitz would probably one of the people I would talk to first.

How Subjects are Chosen for Positive Power Spotlight

As a one-person volunteer newsletter editor, I see part of my mission to spread the news that companies can succeed by being ethical. However, this effort is in my spare time and does not create a revenue stream. I rely on a wide range of information sources to identify companies that seem to be operating with a focus on ethics, service, cooperation, and valuing all stakeholders. While I do make a brief attempt to validate that a company is worth choosing, I do not subject these companies to any kind of ethics audit, and their inclusion does not mean my endorsement. Occasionally, I may find information that makes me feel my selection may not have been appropriate. All I can say is, I do the best I can with the information I have at the time--and I may make a mistake once in a while.

If you'd like to nominate a company for a profile, please use the form at http://www.frugalmarketing.com/contactform.shtml

Note: Many ISPs are automatically filtering out bulk mail, even if it's requested. Especially if it contains a word like "profit." Please add the following address to your "whitelist" (list of automatically approved senders):

I also promise that we collect your e-mail address only to send you the newsletter. We will not share your address with anyone, for any purpose, other than to send you the newsletter or resolve problems with your subscription. And even though it would be to our benefit to acquire demographic information, we're not going to do that.
